Dear colleagues,
NHS Greater Manchester (Integrated Care Board) is pleased to announce the relaunch of a fully funded 4-week pilot programme to support internationally educated nurses (new and existing staff), recruited into GM Social Care Provider organisations. The pilot will be delivered in collaboration with Bolton Foundation Trust and Northern Care Alliance Foundation Trust, and funded from the DHSC Adult Social Care International Recruitment Programme.
The ambition is to support colleagues through the preparation processes to be in a position to undertake the necessary Test of Competence for the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE); passing this examination places the nurses in a position to apply for NMC Registration, which in turn enables them to work as a nurse in the UK.
The pilot programme will include:
-
- Accommodation: Bolton General Hospital Foundation Trust – staff accommodation; four weeks for each nurse. Please note:
-
-
- this may be extended by one week for Pastoral Care induction at the start of the programme for newly recruited colleagues
-
-
-
-
- the accommodation is optional for colleagues wishing to take up this offer, whilst undertaking the training
- the accommodation offer is limited to 20 colleagues
-
-
-
- Establishment of peer support groups
- Induction and support and guidance with mandatory training
- Four weeks of OSCE preparation and training to enable the nurses to apply for NMC registration, including transportation to the OSCE preparation centre (from the Bolton accommodation), if applicable
- The programme will include funding to cover the exam fee
- The provider will be compensated £1,929.32 per person to contribute towards providing cover for the individual whilst attending training for the duration of the programme (this is based on the equivalent of 4 weeks annual pay at £23,200 per annum (plus employers NI contribution) which is the minimum salary requirement of the certificate of sponsorship.
