Dear Colleague,
We are delighted to launch the new Greater Manchester Social Care Academy website this week which is a virtual learning and careers hub for anyone who is or wants to be part of Greater Manchester’s thriving adult social care community.
The hub pulls together resources for those who are interested in starting or progressing their career in adult social care and compliments local offers. It uses career pathways and real-life case studies to provide examples of key steps to advance in different social care roles or gain new roles within the sector. It also promotes sector-specific training opportunities, offers guidance to international recruits and sponsors, and provides adult social care employers with information about how they can support their workforce. To those responsible for offering careers advice, it will provide insight into adult social care careers for them to best inform those that use their services.
As a continual work in progress, this is a fantastic and evolving resource that has been shaped by local stakeholders of all kinds.
We ask that you promote widely and continue to share your ideas on how we can add further to the site and improve resources that will be of value.
