The Public Service Consultants and Imroc want to hear from people with a learning disability, autistic people, and their families, carers and supporters.<\/b> You do not need a formal diagnosis to join the project: if you think you might have a learning disability or be autistic you can take part. <\/span>Adults, and young people aged 14 to 17, who live in England <\/b>can take part.<\/p>\n

About the project<\/b><\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 There is a law about mental health care and being kept in hospital because of your mental health. This is called the Mental Health Act. The guidebook that goes with this law, called the Code of Practice is being rewritten for the first time since 2015. The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) are writing this.<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 We are two companies – The PSC and Imroc – working together to hear from people with a learning disability, autistic people, and their supporters to make sure the new guidebook works well for you.<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 We want to hear from you – what has helped, what has made things worse, and what could be done differently<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Your views could help make mental health care better for many years to come.<\/p>\n

What taking part looks like<\/b><\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 You will join 2 or 3 meetings between October 2026 and March 2028<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 These are group meetings, or one-to-one meetings – you choose<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Group meetings are online or Face-to-face in Birmingham – you choose<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 You choose which topics you feel happy talking about<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 For each meeting you take part in, we will give you an \u00a380 voucher.<\/p>\n
