This new website provides a valuable resource for people experiencing suicidal feelings, those concerned about others and people bereaved by suicide.<\/p>\n

It’s part of the Shining a Light on Suicide campaign, which aims to prevent suicide and take the subject out of the dark by encouraging everyone to talk openly about suicide.<\/p>\n

The website shares tips on how to keep safe if you\u2019re feeling suicidal, where to get help and how to make a safety plan to use during difficult times.<\/p>\n

It also has information for a wide range of local and national services that provide support for people who are feeling suicidal and for people who are bereaved or affected by suicide.<\/p>\n

Residents across Greater Manchester are encouraged to visit the website to equip themselves with the knowledge to help someone who may be struggling with thoughts of suicide. Visitors can take part in a free 20-minute online training course to learn how to ask someone if they are thinking of suicide and how to support them.<\/p>\n

You can also watch a number of Stories of Hope, each one told by someone who has been affected by suicide, including England rugby player Danny Sculthorpe. By telling these stories, we want to encourage others to talk about suicide, remain hopeful and know they can overcome suicidal feelings with the right support.<\/p>\n
