You can <a href=\"https:\/\/hub.gmintegratedcare.org.uk\/mental-health\/fe\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">find out more about the wider programme here<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Young volunteers at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.42ndstreet.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">42nd street<\/a> have been consulting with students across Greater Manchester, with a focus on mental health, COVID-19 and being in further education. The research highlights the experiences of young people and issues that are impacting on their daily lives. Through the symposium we will share these findings and suggest recommendations for change in further education settings.<\/p>\n<p>Come along to find out more about the topic, understand how it can relate to your organisation and speak with other professionals and young people. This event is open to students, professionals from further education colleges or equivalent settings and funders.<\/p>\n<p>Topics Covered<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Young people leading 42nd streets \u201cTransition Ambassadors\u201d programme will introduce research conducted with over 200 young people.<\/li>\n<li>The research findings and accompanying report will be shared with attendees so that they leave feeling more confident understanding mental health for young people in further education<\/li>\n<li>Attendees will learn more about the mental health issues young people face and will become better equipped to support them, creating more positive educational environments for everyone.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We\u2019ll also open discussions and make recommendations about how further education institutions can take proactive, positive and practical steps to create environments that are supportive and understanding.<\/p>\n<p>The main event will include a mix of presentations, including recommendations, and an interactive myth-busting quiz about mental health. Guests will then be encouraged to join a final 30 mins of discussions, prompted by questions set by the young people leading the research.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a
