Mental Health Wellbeing Grants for Disabled People

Feeling good. Small grants to support mental wellbeing for disabled people

The Greater Manchester Disabled People’s Panel (GMDPP) co-produced a report with GM NHS Health and Social Care Partnership on Mental Health Wellbeing and Disability.

This then led to a series of strategic grants being administered by GMCVO (Greater Manchester Centre for Voluntary Organisation).

They also said that needed to be easier to apply for small grants for community groups doing vital work but who are often not part of the established bureaucratic funding culture of the third sector.

They have now launched this small grants fund.

Small grants under £5,000 for groups and organisations to fund activity that supports the mental wellbeing of disabled people.

The deadline is apply before Monday 7th July.

They’re looking for:

  • Innovative ideas which can prove their worth and cause wider system change
  • Work led and implemented by disabled people. If not led by disabled people the project must be in co-production with them using the Social Model of Disability
  • Local community connected groups and organisations with a turnover under £100,000
  • Intersectional and culturally sensitive activity
  • Must be based within Greater Manchester and not just a regional office of large national organisations.

To apply:

Read the report GreaterManchester Mental Wellbeing and Disability’ (in Standard, Easy Read & BSL Video)

  • To provide two references
