As a result of her work on this project Olwyn received a certificate of recognition from the Mayor of Bolton
The Greater Manchester Centre for Voluntary Organisations, working in partnership with 10GM, launched the third stage of a grants programme in the Autumn. The grants were to support adults from communities of identity or experience, based in Greater Manchester, that may struggle to achieve high levels of mental wellbeing.
A grant of £300 was awarded to Golden Oldies in Bolton, a group led by Olwyn Holgate. The grant was used to coordinate and run a project of ringing their group members (who couldn’t meet in person anymore) and provide them each with a simple activity (book, adult colouring, puzzles, jigsaws etc.). Olwyn then rang these people and they had chats about how their activity was, how they were feeling and if they needed any further help. As a result of her work on this project Olwyn has also received a certificate of recognition from the Mayor of Bolton
