| Cervical screening, also known as a smear test, is a test to check the health of the cervix and help prevent cervical cancer. All women and people with a cervix aged 25 to 64 are invited for cervical screening every 5 years. Cervical screening involves taking a small sample of cells from your cervix for testing. It’s usually done by a female nurse or doctor, who will explain the test and answer any questions you have before they start.
Use our assets to remind people to attend when they get their invite. We also have six short videos aimed at autistic women and those with a learning disability available on YouTube to help explain cervical screening produced by The University of Manchester and partners for sharing. |
