Spotlight on Care is light installation

Spotlight on Care is a light installation by Devon artist Leo Jamelli. Featuring more than 50 hand-drawn images that are projected in rapid succession to create a moving picture, it documents the love and devotion of a woman caring for her disabled son. It was inspired by the University of Birmingham’s research and the images are of Julia, a real parent carer who co-produced one of the studies, and her son Harrison, who has cerebral palsy. Previously exhibited in Exeter, London, and Paris, Spotlight on Care was shortlisted for the Derwent Art Prize in 2022.

It’s on display at Waterside Arts from 24th October to 9th January.
