A new painless method of performing blood tests, currently being trialed by University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust (UHMBT), could help people with learning disabilities who are afraid of needles, pain, or clinical environments.
Whilst this is still only a trial, and not within GM, it is an exciting pilot happening within the North West. Hopefully, if successful, this is something that can be rolled out nationwide, not only for those living with learning disabilities, but those who cannot tolerate venepuncture.
