A new e-learning programme is available on the NHS Learning Hub to support people assessing medicines support needs in adult social care.
The programme covers steps in evaluating a person’s medicines support as part of Care Act (2014) assessments and personal preferences.
- Session one focuses on identifying when support is needed, promoting self-management with reasonable adjustments, and creating person-centred care plans aligned with legal and NICE guidance.
- Session two uses case studies to explore real-life scenarios, risk management, referral processes, and when to escalate concerns or seek clinical advice.
This programme helps social care professionals make safe, person-centred decisions and assign medicines administration appropriately.
