The first round of the SSCR Practice Evaluation Scheme is now open for applications.
Through this funding, practitioners in adult social care can partner with researchers to evaluate what works in your organisation.
- We are supporting projects led by practitioners in local authorities, care providers and community/voluntary organisations. Practitioners will partner with researchers to carry out evaluative projects that test new approaches, frameworks and ideas in their organisations.
- Awards between £75k – £100k will be available. These awards can fund or part-fund salary buyout for practitioners leading projects, plus research consumables, conference travel and training in research skills and methods.
It is very important to read the guidance in full before beginning your application. SSCR-Practice-Evaluation-Scheme-Guidance-Round 1 (October 2025) Completed application documents (application form, Practice Lead CV, Research Supporter CV, a project Gantt chart and costing template) should be submitted to sscr@york.ac.uk . Deadline for applications: 5pm Friday 13th February 2026.
