Greater Manchester’s Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy ‘Doing Mental Health Differently’ has been published.
The new five-year plan (2024-2029) sets out our vision for a mentally healthy city-region where every place, child and adult matters.
You can view the strategy on the ICP website: Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy 2024 – 2029 (gmintegratedcare.org.uk)
The next step for the strategy is for the NHS GM mental wellbeing team to pull together the system wide delivery plan and partnership that builds on what is already happening.
The executive lead for ‘Doing Mental Health Differently’ is Professor Manisha Kumar, NHS GM’s Chief Medical Officer.
Manisha hopes that people across our organisation and beyond will join in to support the delivery of the strategy over the next five years, with changes big and small: “Will you join me in making a real change for the people of Greater Manchester? That one conversation you have about someone’s mental health, the ‘are you okay?’, or a smile, laughter, element of hope, can make such a difference to an individual’s mental health.”
If you would like to be involved in the strategy and its delivery, or would like to discuss it in more detail please email the NHS GM mental wellbeing team at gm.mentalwellbeing@nhs.net
