We’ve commissioned Qwell for adults 26+ and extended the Kooth offer so it’s now available to children, young and young adults aged 10 to 25.
Children and young adults aged 10 to 18 have already benefited from being able to access the Kooth.com service, which has been extended and is now accessible for those aged 10 to 25.
From April 1st Qwell (qwell.io), provided by Kooth Digital Health, will be available to all adults in Greater Manchester. Commissioned by the Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership, Qwell is a safe and anonymous digital mental health and wellbeing service which can be accessed for free, with no waiting lists, no referrals and no thresholds. The service is accredited by BACP, can be accessed from any internet device and is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Just like Kooth, Qwell provides a welcoming place to access non-judgemental professional help for any mental health concerns, as and when needed. The service is designed to work alongside other NHS commissioned services within the established mental health pathways. Once registered, it can be accessed via any internet connected device such as a laptop, smartphone or tablet.
Qwell delivers a therapeutic model of online counselling, offering personalised, anonymous, mental health support with no waiting list or threshold. This text-based support is available to all adults across Greater Manchester aged 26+ and includes:
Emotional wellbeing resources, online community, message facility & online counselling with the BACP accredited counsellors. The online counselling team are available from 12 noon to 10pm Monday-Friday and 6pm-10pm at weekends, 365 days a year, providing a much needed out-of-hours service for emotional support in an accessible and convenient way.
