RESEARCH CHAMPION PROJECT

Message shared on behalf of Rachael Duffy, Finance and Quality Assurance Manager, Direct Care Tameside Ltd and NIHR Applied Research Collaboration Greater Manchester Social Care Research Champion

Dear Colleague,

As part of my role as a Health and Social Care Research Champion with the NIHR Applied Research Collaboration Greater Manchester, I’m looking for you and other social care colleagues to take part in my online research survey exploring menopause knowledge and workplace impact.

While often framed as a health issue, menopause also intersects with workplace wellbeing, mental health and equality concerns. In the social care sector, where a significant proportion of the workforce is female and over the age of 40, it is even more integral that we better understand the workplace impact as well as current level of understanding in relation to the menopause. We therefore want to hear directly from those working in the social care sector, not solely those personally experiencing menopausal symptoms, as all experiences and views matter and will help shape our research.

The survey takes approximately 10 minutes to complete, and your responses will be completely anonymous and confidential. Please find the link to the survey here: https://www.qualtrics.manchester.ac.uk/jfe/form/SV_6Qq1mzwhxwEpUpM

By completing this survey, you’ll help us to identify potential gaps in training and support within the social care sector. We hope to then further this research project by developing training and support recommendations to bridge these gaps and improve menopause support not just for staff but service users too. Thank you for your time and contribution to this important work! Please share with your networks and, if you have any questions, please get in touch.

Kind regards,

Rachael
