Greater Manchester is the UK’s first Centre of Excellence for Music and Dementia hosted by Manchester Camerata. Funding has been secured to support three years of direct music support activities across all of Greater Manchester’s 10 boroughs.
Manchester Camerata are working in partnership with the Alzheimer’s Society and the University of Manchester to offer research-backed music cafes for both their ‘Music in Mind’ programme and ‘Singing for the Brain’, which will help take pressure off frontline health and care staff.
